Hector Salas served as Superintendent, Performance Technology Division, Air University, Office of Academic Support, Maxwell AFB, Alabama. His Technology Department was responsible for research, development and implementation of existing and new technologies appropriate for educational integration of technology. Mr. Salas was also responsible for the design, development, implementation and networking of a model multimedia center used to provide instructor training in multimedia, Web design and development, interactive courseware (CD-ROM), various operating systems administration and business application skills development.  Since 1995, Mr. Salas has prepared seasoned instructors to teach via interactive television (advanced distributive learning), use multimedia design principles, and convert courseware to a Web based format (Internet). He was also the first webmaster for the Academic Instructor School. In 2005, Mr. Salas become a certified career and technical educator in Business and Information Technology, in the state of Georgia.

Mr. Salas' educational accomplishments includes an Occupational Instructor Certificate and an Associate Degree in Instructional Technology from the Community College of the Air Force, a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from Louisiana Tech University, graduating cum laude, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Troy State University. His current goal is to pursue  his doctorate in Educational Administration at the University of Georgia at Athens (UGA) and work with educational leaders to enhance teaching and learning outcomes using technology.

Mr. Salas started his advance technical career as a certified Systems Administrator and DBA with the U.S. Air Force in 1989.  In 1990, officials from the pentagon visited Mr. Salas to verify his outstanding accomplishment of solving a major problem with newly implemented systems which no one else was able to solve. Mr. Salas is also a UNIX Webmaster and a Certified Technical Trainer with a rating of Master Instructor.

Mr. Salas has extensive adult education and course development experience, having served for several years as an Instructional Technology Superintendent and Training Advisor for the Air Education and Training Command (AETC). As development program manager he was responsible for the development of several advance computer related courses for the United States Air Force including: the Combat Ammunition System Administration Course, Cargo Movement Operation System, and UNIX Systems Administrator Courses, including Oracle Database Administrator course. While instructing in the Air Education and Training Command Mr. Salas was awarded the rating of Master Instructor (1993). He teamed with the Academic Instructor School faculty in August 1994, originally as a consultant, to help integrate technology. In 1996, Mr. Salas distinguished himself by outstanding achievement while on a special project involving Multimedia Interactive Courseware Development, AF SNCOA Multimedia Course 5. He tested, debugged and advised on the design, development, and revision of the complex course development standards. In 1996, he became Air Force's most sought after member, helping hundreds of agencies in educational technology. In 1998, he was awarded the prestigious honor of Professor of Emeritus.

His military decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal; the Air Force Commendation Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters; and the Air Force Achievement Medal.

Mr Salas is the founder of Katana Business Solutions, Katana Webmasters and continues to serve others in obtaining sucess using the Internet and technology. He is also the Chairman of the Computer Science Department at Riverside Military Academy, in Georgia.
